Research Focus

This project is part of a larger effort to develop methods of numerically predicting amplification of disturbances in a flow field experiencing laminar-turbulent transition. [more information to come]

Project Responsibilities

Beginning in August 2024, I will generate time-averaged flow fields (meanflows) using FUN3D supersonic simulation. Using a TFDTG-developed code, I will then access the transition of those meanflows in the supersonic regime over supersonic airfoils. The result will be a meanflow, instability properties, and a linear input. From there, I will design a controller to reduce those instabilities. [more information to come]
